10. College Copyright Policy

It is the Policy of Seneca College to facilitate access to print, visual, virtual and electronic resources to further academic teaching/learning and operational objectives in accordance with the Copyright Act, Access Copyright’s Ontario College Agreement and the Seneca College Copyright Policy.

10.1 Copyright Offenses

Seneca College, its employees and students are responsible for adhering to all federal and provincial laws/ regulations, and to all College agreements and policies, and can be held liable for non-compliance.

Copying, or the distribution of Copyright protected works, beyond the limits allowed under the Fair Dealing clause in the Copyright Act, the ACCC Fair Dealing Policy, and the Access Copyright Interim Agreement, or the creation of unauthorized derivative works (e.g. editing a copyright protected photograph, abridgments, translations, etc.) without permission, constitute copyright infringement and academic penalties may be applied.
