The Confucius Institute at Seneca, in co-operation with our Chinese education partner Northeast Normal University, aims to:
- Promote Chinese language and culture through community-based learning and academic programming
- Facilitate cultural exchanges
- Deliver training for Canadian companies staffing offices overseas
- Assist entrepreneurs seeking to do business in China

Confucius Institutes are non-profit public institutions that aim to promote Chinese language and culture, support local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitate cultural exchanges. The program was started in 2004 and is financed by the Office of Chinese Language Council International a non-profit organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The institutes operate in co-operation with local affiliate colleges and universities around the world.
