Prime Minister Stephen Harper among attendees at Seneca for ethnic press seminar

Markham Campus hosted more than 225 members of Canada's ethnic media for The 2009 National Ethnic Press and Media Council (NEPMC) Training Development Seminar.

The three-day seminar, running from Nov. 19 to 22 brought together members of the ethnic media, provincial and national dignitaries, Seneca experts and dignataries including, Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada; Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism; Peter Kent, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Gerry Phillips, Chair of Cabinet, Ontario; Timothy Hudak, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario; Khalil Ramal, MPP London-Fanshawe; Dimitris Azamopoulos, Consul General of Greece in Toronto; Scott Shortcliffe, Director, Policy and Program, Canada Magazine Fund, Dept of Canadian Heritage; Robert Andrusevich, Senior Communication Advisor, Strategic Communications, City Manager’s Office; Lois Brown, MPP Newmarket-Aurora; Paul Calandra, Oak Rdiges-Markham and Peter Braid, MPP Kitchener - Waterloo.

The NEPMC is a non-profit organization with more than 600 members across Canada with a mission to promote and integrate economic, social and cultural interests of ethnic communities into mainstream Canadian society.
