Students, Business, Alumni, Professionals

Outside the formal classroom, the Seneca College School of Business Management (SBM) has many opportunities for students to practice and develop their business skills. If it is business you are interested in, then SBM faculty, alumni and students have many associations and clubs to join, some of which are part of national and international organizations. Moreover, to be successful in many courses students have to connect with business and participate. Held once a year, The Shark's Pond is a key event for Entrepreneurial Students to test their business plans and strategies.

There is a mentoring program that matches senior students who are successful in the School of Business Management with proteges who are in their first or second semester and who want to better meet the goals that they have set for themselves. The program is called SMILE which stands for Student Mentoring in Life and Education.

The Seneca College School of Business Management has an e-newsletter for the SBM student community. Called the NoozL, it helps students, alumni and faculty stay current about what is happening at the School of Business Management.

A key goal of extra-curricular work is to encourage students to effectively manage time and priorities, and to work ethically and cooperatively in simulated business settings.
