If I am not a native English speaker and I have recently arrived in Canada, do I need to write the TOEFL examination?
You do not have to write the TOEFL examination when applying to the Flight Program. If you do
write it, you would need to get a mark of at least 570 on the paper-based examination or at least
88 on the internet-based examination to be accepted into the program. If you do not write the TOEFL
examination, your acceptance would be determined in part by the mark you get on the English portion
of the Flight Program entrance test. If you have any doubt about your ability in English, you could
write the TOEFL examination before applying to the Flight Program. It costs $160 (U.S.) to write
the Internet-based version of the examination.
